The D.C. Lottery and Charitable Games Control Board (DCLB) is offering players new ways to stay connected online and via mobile messaging! "Stay Connected" is the D.C. Lottery's latest initiative to provide players with additional avenues of access to winning numbers, jackpot amounts, and lottery promotions.

This new initiative complements DCLB's existing communication tools, which now include Facebook, e-mail blasts, and a redesigned website. Players who want to receive DCLB information "on the go" via their mobile phone can now register for a FREE text messaging feature (standard text messaging rates apply). Additionally, DCLB is offering access to an RSS feeds page at dclottery.com to circulate winning numbers and jackpot alerts to all interested visitors.

"With the Stay Connected campaign, the D.C. Lottery is informing our players that we can provide them with the information they want in the format they prefer," said DCLB's Executive Director Jeffrey "Jay" Young. "Today's technology enables the agency to push data to our customers and reach an expanded audience. This is a great move forward for the D.C. Lottery."

To receive text messages of winning numbers, jackpots, and promotional information, individuals must join the D.C. Lottery's Player's Club. Instructions on how to receive D.C. Lottery alerts through the RSS feeds or text messaging are available on the agency's website.

To become a "fan" of the D.C. Lottery Facebook page, users can search for "D.C. Lottery." Players without a Facebook account can register at www.facebook.com free of charge.

Ultimately, the use of new technology will converge with DCLB's redesigned website to create greater consumer access. Communications and Marketing Director Kevin Johnson adds, "The new texting, RSS feeds, and Facebook page complement a series of improved consumer touch-point technology programs, which have characterized the DCLB operation in recent years. We will continue advancing program technology in order to remain relevant and convenient with consumers in the future."
