During a General Service Administration (GSA) oversight hearing, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) released the list of 22 GSA stimulus-funded projects in the District, which include six high performance green building full and partial modernizations and 16 other high performance green building projects.

"Because D.C. is the seat of government with most of its prime land off the D.C. tax rolls and used for federal office space, the District ranks number one in government projects in need of work, with Texas ranked number two," the Congresswoman said. However, GSA prepared its list of potential projects in all 50 states, D.C., and the territories based on its backlog of repairs needed to maintain its large inventory throughout the nation. Norton also garnered $3 million for on-the-job pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship training in the GSA section of the bill.
