District of Columbia: Residents still raking in bucks except for $144 million winner

Susana Abril Friendship Heights learned that her chance Powerball play had netted her a serious win of $200,000!
The self-described "occasional player" from Northwest Washington, D.C. and linguistics professor has plans for her newly acquired boon. "I will help my parents get their own home," exclaimed the Argentina native. "I was in complete disbelief, but I'll cry when I see the check!"
Abril says she generally plays $3 of Powerball and that she selected her numbers because of their importance to her family. She purchased her winning ticket at Rodman's located at 5100 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W.
With this claim, that leaves two D.C. Lottery prizes still yet unclaimed. "We're still looking for another $10,000 winner and the still unknown $144 million Powerball jackpot winner from the April 8. Lottery's Executive Director Jeffrey "Jay" Young, who asks that the jackpot ticketholder(s) contact the agency at (202) 615-8715 to begin the validation process. Young also reiterated that D.C. Lottery players should immediately sign the back of their tickets.
The D.C. Lottery's Claim Center is located on the Lobby Level of the Frank D. Reeves Municipal Center, 2000 14th Street, N.W. It is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Ticketholders have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
