On Friday hundreds of people were on their way to the D.C. Lottery's Claim Center to get paid. In addition to the winning $144 Million POWERBALL ticket being sold at the Giant on 1535 Alabama Avenue, S.E., DC-4 players collectively won $1.3 million. One day after the $144 million POWERBALL jackpot was hit, DC-4 players experienced their own big hit with the evening drawing on April 9. Players who wagered on the winning numbers 1-2-1-1 have also won a cash prize. Those who bet $1 and played straight (exact order) have won the top prize of $5,000, while players who bet 50 cents have won $2,500.

Young said 241 DC-4 tickets were placed with straight wagers. So far, the $144 million POWERBALL prize has not been claimed. The D.C. Lottery's Executive Director Jeffery "Jay" Young asks that the ticketholder(s) contact the agency at (202) 615-8715 to begin the validation process. "We want to ensure that claiming this prize is a great experience for the lucky player(s)," said Young, reiterating that it is important for all D.C. Lottery players to immediately sign the back of their tickets.

There is also a $10,000 POWERBALL prize that has not yet been claimed. That winning ticket was purchased at 7-11, 1101 South Capitol Street, S.W. The D.C. Lottery's Claim Center is located on the Lobby Level of the Frank D. Reeves Municipal Center, 2000 14th Street, N.W. It is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Ticketholders have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. On the Net: www.dclottery.com
