"$250,000? Really? You guys are joking right?" questioned Charlie Watson. That's what he said, while checking his DC Daily 6™ ticket, which happened to be worth the top prize amount.
Watson, an Alexandria, Va., resident, lives a simple life. He currently works at Shopper's Food Warehouse as a night stocker and has been with them for 15 years. "I enjoy my job, because it's simple, "Watson explains.
On his days off, plays his numbers at his favorite agent, South Capitol Shell, 4700 South Capitol Street, S.E. When playing, he sticks with the same numbers that he has played for years. When he played DC Daily 6 on Thursday May 8, he had no idea that those numbers would lead him to the grand prize of $250,000.
Watson refused to believe that his ticket was worth so much until he received his check. "I don't have any big plans for myself," Watson stated. "But, my grandson is in college. We didn't know how we were going to pay his tuition, but I guess that's not hard to figure out now!"
