NEW CARROLTON, MD - Prince George's County Executive Jack Johnson recently celebrated the grand opening of the Four Points by Sheraton New Carrolton at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
"The New Carrolton Town Center redevelopment project is a very important project for Prince George's County. It is a well-deserved and winning investment for county residents," Johnson said.
Johnson was joined by Maryland Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, Prince George's County Councilman Eric Olson, New Carrolton Mayor Andrew Hanko, and Arun Luthra and Parvez Ahmed, principals of American Hospitality Management.
Owned by American Hospitality Management, LLC, Four Points by Sheraton New Carrollton offers 197 new rooms equipped including extras like microwaves, coffee makers, refrigerators, free high-speed Internet access in a 100 percent nonsmoking environment.
Open since August 8, the newly renovated hotel is part of a redevelopment project called the New Carrollton Town Center.
A $75 million redevelopment investment was to renovate and convert the old Ramada Inn New Carrollton to the Four Points by Sheraton-New Carrollton. The hotel conversion and about 75,000 square feet of retail and office condo space should be finished by next spring. A path will connect the hotel/retail site with about 100 townhouse-style condos expected to be finished next fall.
Phase two will add retail and office condos surrounding the 10-story existing hotel. Leases are being finalized with retailers and restaurants including FedEx Kinko's, Five Guys Burgers, Stonefish Grill and Curves.
Phases three and four will feature luxury townhomes and up to 96 luxury condominiums.
