Twelve-year-old Lydia Nagelhout's love of reading earned her first place honors - and an iPod Nano - in the Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) Teensite online contest in celebration of Teen Read Week (October 14 through 20).

By correctly matching 12 quotes to a dozen teen books, the Pyle Middle School seventh-grader was one of five entrants who achieved a perfect score.  To determine the top prize recipient, Bethesda Library Manager Kay Bowman drew the name of the winner and runner up Daniela Duvra from Montgomery Blair High School, received an iTunes gift card.

Henry Lewis, Takoma Park Middle School;  Patricia Mitchel, Silver Spring International School; and Caitlin Murphy of the Stone Ridge School - the other students with perfect scores received Starbucks gift cards.

The 12 books featured in the contest ranged from teen classics such as "Catcher in the Rye" to "Eclipse," the first book in the Stephanie Meyer Vampire Trilogy.

For more information about Teen Read Week or the contest, contact the Bethesda Library at 240-777-0970 or visit www.montgomerycountymd.gov/mcpl_teensite.
