The unassuming light blue walls nestled in the stark, urban background of the District gives the 9:30 Club its unique flare. Located at 815 V St. NW, this eclectic club showcases a wide array of artists from all genres of music. Artists from Dolly Parton to BB King, The Roots to Super Furry Animals, and Musiq to Aimee Mann have all been featured acts.
A crowd of more than 500 spectators crowded into a Howard University ballroom Friday night to witness the biggest Hip-Hop competition in the area, Verbal Armageddon. Thirty-two handpicked entertainers performed in the first of a three round series to determine the illest MC in the District.

Journalists at the Washington Post have willing withheld their names from articles, photographs and artwork as a way to protest management’s contract proposals when the last agreement expired on May 18.
Grade: B There are some movies that you just can’t dislike. “Sweet Home Alabama” is one of them. Director Andy Tennant (“Fools Rush In,” “Anna and the King”) created a heartwarming romantic comedy that will have those below and above the Mason Dixon Line smiling.
